Explore St. Paul Real Estate

St. Paul is the capital of Minnesota and is often referred to as the most livable city in America. The vibrancy of the city, and community engagement has people coming in droves. It’s a place of deep tradition, rich history, and contemporary culture. St.Paul has one of the widest concentrations of hi-tech firms in the country which attracts a diverse and talented crowd. It’s a prosperous, and safe city, decked with awesome recreation and amenities, attracting young professionals, and growing families. St. Paul real estate is just as interesting as its crowd where you’ll come across established neighborhoods with tree-lined streets, luxury historic homes, trendy urban developments, and classic Tudor single-family homes.

St. Paul is a city of neighborhoods, each with its own history and character. In the last decade, the City has put great efforts towards restoration and revival of historical properties and villages, as well as garnering the concept of an urban village which is demonstrated through the development of Downtown. With so many options in St. Paul real estate, it’s hard not to get distracted.

Summit Avenue is one of the longest preserved Victorin avenue in the country, where you’ll find elegant homes that are typically National historic landmarks, once home to Sinclair Lewis and author F. Scott Fitzgerald. At the high end of the St. Paul real estate market, discerning homebuyers are met with stately homes that have been well-kept since the 1800s. Crocus Hill is famous for stately mansions resembling homes from movies like the Clue and Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds. But not all of St. Paul luxury homes for sale are turn-of-the-century. You’ll find newer builds that boast similar elegance and tradition, but dialed in with excellent modern efficiencies and designs. These estates range from 3,000 to 9,000 square feet, offering 4 to 8 bedrooms and bathrooms. Old or new, homes of this caliber can be found on bigger lots with established grounds. Character and class is what you’ll love about these homes, featuring wainscoting, custom-woodwork, crown-moldings, copper gutters, leaded glass windows, majestic fireplaces.

Other more affordable single-family options include both historic homes and completely contemporary builds. Most of the homes from the 1900s in St. Paul real estate have gone through beautification processes and upgrades to compete with new properties. It really comes down to preference in design, as both old and new single-family homes are comfortable, and well-appointed. St. Paul single-family homes offer anywhere from 2,000 to 4,000 square feet, averaging 2 to 5 bedrooms and bathrooms. Wrap-around porches, bay-windows, sunrooms, you’ll also find famous 19th century duplexes, and condos in restored multi-level unit homes that have undergone impressive renovations.

At the lowest end of the market, you’ll find an abundance of homes deserving some TLC. These single=-family homes are great for first-time buyers, or small families, or can be a great opportunity for those seeking house-flipping projects and fixer-uppers. Just keep in mind that there are some firm regulations and codes in St. Paul real-estate.
